Rota: Monday – Friday 

Hours: 9am – 5pm | 37.5 Hours per week 

Term:  Full Time / Permanent 

Salary: Up to £50,000 per year (plus bonus package and benefits)

The client are looking for experienced motivated insurance professionals, either with some commercial insurance experience of developing new business, or perhaps an experienced Insurance Account Handler looking to step up into a more client facing role.

They deliver operations, consulting and technology solutions including excellence in claims, underwriting, distribution, regulation, customer experience, human capital, transformation & change management.

Role Outline:

As a Surveyor (major complex loss), you’ll carry out surveying of High Net Worth, major Loss and other complex claims. The successful candidate will need to be happy to travel and be comfortable with large scale works.

  • To provide professional Surveying & Project managed services in connection with domestic and commercial buildings for High Net Worth, Major Loss and other complex claims
  • To visit damaged properties and assess technical and insurance aspects required to resolve insurance claims and to reinstate damaged buildings. 
  • To understand, implement and comply with company procedures and policies.
  • To liaise with clients, policyholders, local authorities, third parties, claims handlers and other work colleagues as required.
  • To maintain and update accurate records on the company claims management IT system.
  • To proactively work on own initiative and manage a portfolio of work within a regional area and assist in other areas as and when required.
  • The role will be home based, and the employee will be required to maintain a suitable home office environment.
  • There will be a requirement to attend local company offices from time to time. A company car will be provided, and full driver’s license is required.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • To provide professional Surveying & Project managed services in connection with domestic and commercial buildings for Major Loss insurance claims. 
  • To proactively manage own work efficiently and effectively to achieve business objectives and meet defined service level agreements (SLAs).
  • To actively project manage / progress and control all cases.
  • Understand and effectively implement Company systems and procedures.
  • Understand Individual client requirements.
  • Ensure technical accuracy of the highest standard.
  • Produce high quality personalised outgoing correspondence.
  • Handle customers effectively and fairly in line with HNW insurers requirements
  • Be flexible at all times and able to accommodate demanding appointment schedules.
  • Action all work in line with company and client requirements
  • Build effective relationships with Adjusters, clients, brokers and others.
  • Communicate regularly with all interested parties.
  • Produce reports, tender documents and contract administration of highest quality
  • Work within a team environment to achieve best results either on individual losses or group results.
  • Interact with existing clients to maintain and further existing relations and procure new business.
  • Utilisation of other businesses for the benefit of policyholders
  • Reports and accountable to: Head of Subsidence and Surveying and Field Services.

Essential Requirements:

  • Required to have previous experience within a similar role.
  • Educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline, e.g. Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Surveying, or similar.

  • Good Numeracy skills

  • Liaison with: Directors, Associate Directors, Managers, Loss Adjusters, Support Staff, Clients, Customers, Suppliers as necessary.
  • Full, clean driving license required.
  • Reports and accountable to: Head of Subsidence and Surveying
